Opportunity: Help train young leaders to create alcohol change

Would you like to develop your skills as a facilitator, help to support young people making change, and contribute to the health of your community by reducing the harm of alcohol?
ALAC and NZAAHD would like to invite you to apply to become one of 20 facilitators nationally who will help to train young leaders/adults who are running events focussed on reducing harm from alcohol during Youth Week. This is a short fixed-term project.
What is required:
-Attend a two-day training in Wellington (26-27 April) with Rod Baxter & ALAC
-Book and arrange a training session in your area/city in area late April/early May
-Facilitate the training session (once you have been trained)
-Follow-up with participants and ALAC/NZAAHD
-In total this will be about 30-40 hours work
What you get out of it:
-Develop new skills
-Involvement in supporting young people to create change
-Contribute to the health of your community by reducing the harm of alcohol
-A flat fee of $500
-A trip to Wellington to be trained
Skills:
-Confident public speaker.
-Interest/experience in reducing the harm of alcohol in your community
-Commitment to working with diversity of young people
-Facilitation or youth work experience an advantage

-what training or experience you have had working for/with youth?
-what training or experience you have had in facilitation?
-why you want become a facilitator?
-if you currently work for a youth, health, or AoD organisation?
-and two referees that we could call and ask a little about you (we will let you know before we call)
