Taiohi Tagz

Taking place on Wed 26th May 2010
About this Event: This day is focused at Youth to implement art work in the way of expressive art. The event we are holding is Koro Shed. Koro’s shed is introduced as another medium for Oranga Hinengaro staff to engage with Tangata Whaiora together with their Whanau. Koro shed is a mobile workshop that offers hangarau education as a cultural therapeutic therapy. Conclusion Koro’s shed as a cultural therapy is steadily gaining support. There is a weekly slot in the day hospital, Oranga Hinengaro staff feel it is a good value and one of our doctors have furnished me with a list of people’s names whom she believes would benefit from this kind of activity. There is also interest from the IRTS Team. Staff at Oranga Hinengaro is being trained as defacto Koro. This is being utilised with whanau and Rangatahi to assist with the recovery of their well being. - taiohi tags - koro shed making their mark around well being. - Murals - Individual art work with their thoughts and feelings.
