Published by Youth WeekThere are close to 400,000 young people in years 7-15 in New Zealand schools. As a result schools are uniquely placed to get involved in Youth Week.

Here are examples of what a few school have done during Youth Week.

Awesome free lunchtime events. Included: professional bands, professional dance groups and a teachers vs. students day.
Youth/Spirit Week at Taipa Area School
Music in the Quad organised by school council members for the whole school population to celebrate youth including dance competitions, best theme dress and prizes for best contribution to the whole youth/spirit week.
Monday- Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) chalk murals around the school promoting SADD, displaying posters and stickers.
Tuesday- SADD students arrive at school dressed up as victims of car accidents, will promote and talk about the effects of drink driving and ways of keeping people safe around alcohol. Special quests such as fire fighters, ambulance drivers etc are invited to attend a sausage sizzle to acknowledge the work they do in the community
Friday- Mufti Day- Students come to school in mufti, all proceeds go to SADD.
Held a Coin Trail with all money raised going to Youthline. Also a game of seaweed set up for anyone and everyone to participate in.
